Road Work

Road Work captures the temporary architecture of repair: cones, machinery, traffic lights, signs, and hard work lights gathered in the dark. The city appears mid-operation, open and unfinished. KM Smith’s photograph recognizes the nocturnal labor that keeps the urban surface functioning while most people are elsewhere.

Collector note. This image introduces motion, infrastructure, and municipal labor into the collection, expanding the idea of the graveyard shift beyond buildings alone.

All prints are presented on Canson Baryta Giclée paper.
