Laundromat
Laundromat presents a brightly lit interior behind a long glass facade, with empty machines, benches, and parking spaces arranged in quiet order. The scene holds the ordinary dignity of maintenance — the repetitive, necessary work of daily life. At night, KM Smith transforms this familiar place into a glowing container of absence and routine.
Collector note. This photograph is one of the series’ clearest studies of everyday labor and domestic necessity displaced into public space.
