Homestead 5

Homestead 5 presents a weathered rural house held in the quiet tension between endurance and disappearance. The broad roof, open windows, broken porch, and spring grasses give the structure a lingering human presence, even as time and neglect continue their slow work. KM Smith avoids sentimentality here, allowing the house to remain plainspoken and dignified—a remnant of shelter, labor, and lives no longer visible.

Collector note. This photograph is one of the quieter images in the series, with its strength resting in restraint, balance, and the emotional stillness of a place nearly emptied of human presence.

All prints are presented on Canson Baryta Giclée paper.
