Homestead 3
In Homestead 3, the building faces the open land with a formal, almost stoic directness. Its worn siding, boarded windows, and uneven roofline speak to endurance as much as loss. KM Smith’s composition allows the structure to remain dignified, not romanticized — a remnant of settlement shaped by weather, time, and the choices of those who eventually moved on.
Collector note. This work emphasizes the series’ typological strength, presenting the homestead as both a structure and a historical marker.
